In this special episode of PromoHomo.TV®, Producer/Host Nicholas Snow interviews Charles Huff, Director, Food Security at The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, which serves the Coachella Valley, which includes Palm Springs, California.

Since 2008, the Community Food Bank has provided fresh produce, baked goods, proteins, pantry items, dairy, and more to residents in need of food assistance. We’re open every Thursday evening throughout the year to offer free, nutritional food in a clean, safe setting, with more than 23,524 people served over the last 12 months.

As they say at www.TheCenterCV.org about their broader services, “our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our vibrant LGBTQ community. Come join us at The Center, a space where you can belong and be unconditionally you.”

Charles return to work at The Center with history in volunteer management and development at The Center, and at various other non-profits in Volunteer Management and Programs. An east coast transplant with careers in performing and banking, Charles’ work on the west coast started in San Francisco as a banker, civil servant, and then non-profit work.

The non-profit sector is where he found his niche. All aspects of the non-profit experience have been touched upon; board, volunteer and staff have all been part of the journey. Black Coalition on AIDS, The Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 100% College Prep Club, Desert AIDS Project/DAP Health and Mizell Center are just a few of the organizations Charles has lent his talents to. His return to The Center as Director of Food Security is in line with his commitment to being of service.

Says Huff, “No one in America should be hungry!”

How, exactly, is Snow accomplishing all of this?

For now, all the series are produced and hosted by Snow, but as the network grows, his vision is to lead a large creative team and perhaps collaborate with a major television network. Think Netflix.

Just as other Creators use crowdfunding platforms to support their film and television projects, Snow encourages viewers to become one of “The PromoHomo.TV® One Thousand”, folks who voluntarily subscribe to the free content for as little as $3.00/month via the Patreon platform.

“I support PromoHomo.TV® because we live in a time of increased hostility towards the LGBTQ+ community,” explains Robert Karl, Queer author. “Representation is more vital than ever, and PromoHomo.TV® amplifies Queer voices, promotes positive stories, and stands strong against those who attack us. PromoHomo.TV promotes the Queer community.”

Join Karl and about 30 other folks to grow The PromoHomo.TV® One Thousand at www.Patreon.com/PromoHomoTV.
