Palm Springs Pride Announces 2026 Theme: “Be Included”
Greater Palm Springs Pride has announced “Be Included” as the official theme for its 40th annual Pride celebration, taking place November 6 through 8, 2026. More than a slogan, the theme is a call for solidarity, visibility, and radical joy at a time when LGBTQ+ rights remain under pressure across the country. Organizers say Palm Springs Pride continues to serve as both a major cultural force and a powerful economic engine for the region, with more than 200,000 attendees expected to help generate an estimated $38 million in direct local economic impact. Festival plans include live entertainment, exhibitors, block parties, and the Pride Parade stepping off at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 8. Parade and vendor registration is now open at pspride.org.
Big Gay Movie Series: Accidental Friends at the Palm Springs Cultural Center
The Palm Springs Cultural Center’s Big Gay Movie series continues with Accidental Friends, part of the center’s ongoing commitment to bringing LGBTQ+ stories to the big screen. The film follows two very different young men—one gay and one initially homophobic—whose forced proximity gives way to understanding, connection, and transformation. It is the kind of intimate, character-driven storytelling that reminds audiences why queer cinema still matters. For showtimes, tickets, and more information, visit the Palm Springs Cultural Center at the film page for Accidental Friends or browse additional programming at the Cultural Center’s film and festival section.
Club Birdcage Brings Sequins, Drag, and Heart to Palm Springs on May 2
On Saturday, May 2, Prism Theater celebrates the 30th anniversary of The Birdcage with Club Birdcage, a glamorous one-night-only benefit for The Creative Pride Foundation. Inspired by the beloved film’s unforgettable characters, the event promises drag entertainment, cabaret performances, signature cocktails, complimentary passed appetizers, raffle prizes, and plenty of high-camp fun. Beyond the sequins and comedy, the evening supports a deeper mission: helping fund safe space, creative expression, and life-changing opportunities for young people who need to see themselves reflected onstage. Tickets and table sponsorships are available at the official Club Birdcage ticket page.
Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast Returns May 14
The 14th annual Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast takes place Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The event honors the life and legacy of Harvey Milk while bringing together community leaders, business leaders, and advocates committed to equality and justice for all. Organizers expect approximately 1,200 attendees for this year’s gathering, which continues a tradition that has inspired thousands of youth and adults through the years. It remains one of the Coachella Valley’s most meaningful annual celebrations of leadership, civic engagement, and LGBTQ+ visibility. Tickets and details are available at the official Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast event page.
Marilyn 100 Set to Transform Palm Springs May 29 Through June 1
Palm Springs Pride is also behind Marilyn 100, a citywide centennial celebration honoring what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday. Running from May 29 through June 1, 2026, the festival will culminate in an official Guinness World Record attempt to gather the largest number of people dressed as Marilyn Monroe in history. Organizers hope to rally 500 participants on Saturday, May 30, shattering the current record of 254. Registered participants receive a Marilyn Icon Kit that includes the signature white halter dress, platinum wig, and entry to the record-setting celebration. The weekend is designed as both a fan festival and a fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting Palm Springs Pride and its ongoing LGBTQ+ advocacy. For registration and more information, visit pspride.org.
