Brothers of the Desert presents the national launch of Wyatt O’Brian Evans’ provocative new novel, Nothing Can Tear Us Apart: RUTHLESS!, Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Palm Springs, California.

Journalist and Brothers of the Desert Board Member Will Dean hosts the conversation beginning at 5:30 PM Pacific / 7:30 PM Central / 8:30 PM Eastern. The free event is presented by Brothers of the Desert, with Rainbow Advocacy as a sponsor, and is available both in person and virtually. ABOUT RUTHLESS! AND THE NOTHING CAN TEAR US APART SERIES

RUTHLESS! is the fourth novel in Wyatt O’Brian Evans’ Nothing Can Tear Us Apart series, following RAGE!, FRENZY! and SHATTERED!.

The series centers on Wesley Laurence Kelly and Antonio Miguel Rios Jr., two Gay/SGL men of color navigating an intense, committed relationship while confronting violence, trauma, family conflict, betrayal and threats from forces outside their relationship.

Evans combines romance, psychological suspense and crime-thriller elements while placing masculine Black and Latino Gay/SGL men at the center of the story. His fiction also explores subjects including intimate partner violence and abuse, childhood trauma, recovery, loyalty, love and the complicated ways past wounds can shape adult relationships.

In RUTHLESS!, the stakes continue to rise as Wesley and Antonio face new dangers and buried secrets while fighting to protect both their relationship and their lives.

ABOUT WYATT O’BRIAN EVANS

Wyatt O’Brian Evans is an author, journalist, radio personality, voice-over professional, instructor and advocate whose work has focused extensively on LGBTQ+ lives and communities.

His journalism has appeared in publications including The Advocate, The Huffington Post, The Washington Blade, The Washington Post, Baltimore Gay Life, Bilerico and Baltimore OUTloud.

Evans earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Political Science from The George Washington University and is also the host of the WYATT! podcast.

A significant part of Evans’ writing and advocacy focuses on Intimate Partner Violence and Abuse (IPV/A) within LGBTQ+ relationships. His personal experience, research and journalism surrounding IPV/A inform both his advocacy work and the fictional world of the Nothing Can Tear Us Apart series.

ABOUT BROTHERS OF THE DESERT

Brothers of the Desert is a Palm Springs/Coachella Valley-based nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing and supporting Black gay men and allies.
