What on earth is NICHOLAS SNOW’S GREAT BEARD ADVENTURE?
Hi folks! Well, the cat is out of the bag. Or more appropriately, the shaving cream remains in the can.
Have you ever had a goal or goals that you wanted to keep to yourself, but you wanted to be accountable to yourself and others (cheerleaders, not critics) for your actions (or inaction), and you wanted to have some sort of daily evidence to demonstrate that you are in fact staying true to your vision?
Well, that’s the premise of NICHOLAS SNOW’S GREAT BEARD ADVENTURE!
I have a collection of goals that require action (or consistent inaction..things I DON’T want to do), either daily or several times a week. I have learned that when I have daily evidence, and accountability partners, I am successful in the long run.
Here’s how it works:
As long as I am consistent in meeting my daily and weekly goals, I WILL NOT SHAVE. As long as I remain unshaven, and start to sport a beard (which I think is going to be quite grey), I am on target!
I began this adventure two days ago, Saturday, February 24th, 2023, with a cleanly shaved face…and two days later, I have NOT shaved. So far so good.
Also, some of you have known me long enough to know that when my hair (not my beard, but my hair) is long, it is actually quite curly. Recent throwback photo posts have resulted in suggestions that I grow my hair long again. So, while not connected to the GREAT BEARD ADVENTURE, I am also going to avoid haircuts. What does this mean? I may start looking like a mountain man or a viking. (I reserve the right to have the beard groomed and my hair trimmed).

How will I know when to stop? I have one particular milestone in mind. When I reach this milestone, I will publicly share what the goal was that I will have reached, and I will make a decision to shave, keep the beard if I like it, or continue growing it, tied to different goals and milestones.
