Prism Theatre Takes Center Stage in Palm Springs

Prism Theatre Palm Springs is stepping into the spotlight with a permanent new downtown home, a busy summer season, and a full slate of unapologetically queer, adults-oriented entertainment.

In this episode of PromoHomo.TV® Spotlight, Nicholas Snow gets an exclusive first-look tour of the new Prism Theatre location and sits down with Lance and Ron Phillips, the husbands behind it all, to talk about the journey to opening, the shows ahead, and the creation of a bold LGBTQ+-centered performance space in Palm Springs.

Located at 391 N. Indian Canyon Drive, Prism Theatre is designed as more than a traditional theatre. It is a nightlife-friendly destination for camp musicals, drag-infused parody, adult comedy, cocktails, queer joy, and community connection. The venue is 18+, with a full bar for guests 21 and over.

The opening marks a major milestone for Prism after construction delays and a temporary venue chapter that included the popular run of Camp Morning Wood. That temporary launch helped prove there was an audience in Palm Springs for irreverent, adult, queer-centered live entertainment. Now, with its permanent downtown home opening, Prism is ready for a bigger chapter.

The first production in the new space is The Book of Merman, a heaven-sent musical comedy in which two Mormon missionaries knock on the wrong door and encounter Broadway legend Ethel Merman.

The season continues with Making Porn, The Raw Dog Naked Comedy Festival, When Pigs Fly, Devil Boys from Beyond, Snow White and the Seven Bottoms, and Little Christmas Tree Shop of Horrors.

Prism is also offering a flexible Four Play Pass, allowing audiences to pick any four shows, save 10%, and lock in great seats close to the action. The pass includes flexible exchange options and is designed for locals and visitors who want to experience multiple productions throughout the season.

The lineup reflects Prism’s clear identity: bold, funny, queer, campy, and proudly adult. From Broadway parody to sci-fi comedy, naked stand-up, holiday horror, and glitter-bomb musical revue, the season is built for audiences looking for something they will not find anywhere else in Palm Springs.

For Lance and Ron Phillips, Prism Theatre represents both a creative expansion and a community offering: a fun, safe, outrageous space where LGBTQ+ audiences and allies can gather, laugh, drink, celebrate, and see themselves reflected on stage.
